Cookie policy
This page explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, and how you can control them. We only use analytics cookies if you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits.
Other technologies do a similar job, including local storage, session storage and tracking pixels. Where this policy says "cookies", it means those too.
Cookies set by this website are first party. Cookies set by another company whose content appears on a page are third party.
The categories
Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work, or to remember a choice you have made about cookies. They do not require your consent.
Analytics. Count visits and show which pages are used, so we can improve the site. Only set if you accept them.
Marketing. Follow browsing across sites to target advertising. This site does not use any.
What this site uses
Strictly necessary
- et_cookie_consent (local storage, this site). Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask on every page. Kept until you clear your browser storage.
Analytics, only if you accept
- _ga (Google Analytics). Tells one visitor apart from another, so visits can be counted. Lasts up to 2 years.
- _ga_S2XEWD1W3K (Google Analytics). Keeps track of your current visit. Lasts up to 2 years.
Framer analytics. The platform this site is built on also counts page views, but without cookies and without creating an identifier for you, so it does not need your consent.
No marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run advertising trackers on this site, and we do not sell or share browsing data. Google Analytics is set up so that its advertising features stay switched off.
Your choice, and how to change it
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Reject is as easy as Accept, and nothing is set until you choose.
If you reject them, Google Analytics can still send a basic, cookieless signal that a page was viewed, with no identifier attached, so we can see overall traffic without tracking you.
You can change your mind at any time. If you switch from accepting to rejecting, the analytics cookies already set on this site are removed.
Consent, and the law
In the UK, cookies are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) alongside UK GDPR.
The rule is that non-essential cookies may only be placed after you have given clear, informed consent, and refusing must be as easy as accepting. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt.
Content from other websites
This site does not embed maps, videos or social media feeds from other websites.
The fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. This sets no cookies, but Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested, as it would for any website you visit.
Managing cookies yourself
You can delete cookies already stored and block new ones in your browser settings. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all provide this under privacy settings, and most offer a private browsing mode.
You can also stop Google Analytics on every website with Google's browser add-on, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, so we do not rely on it.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies used on this site change, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
